Thread starter eli7 Start date Oct 7, One of my friends was reading couple of weeks ago writing for me and she said this sentence: But she insisted that back is correct and copule has checked it with one of her teachers. Is "back" here a correct word or t must change to "ago"?

And if it's correct, why?! Copyright Senior Member Penang. It's certainly good colloquial American English.

Couple Of Weeks Means Two Weeks ? - Language Forum @ LingQ

It's perfectly correct in BE, too Why? Couple of weeks ago our very own WR dictionary says so: It is perfectly correct, although its use in such a context might be considered a little more informal than "ago".

It's more the kind of thing people would say in conversation or in writing to wee,s, whereas if you were writing a more formal document or trying to sound very "well spoken" in conversation you would use "ago".

Thank couple of weeks ago.
